ERN Pre-SNR Consultation Submission to CLG
This submission sets out a number of questions and key principles that the English Regions Network (ERN) recommends should be considered in the forthcoming Sub National Review consultation in the area of regional accountability and scrutiny.
ERN Response to the Planning White Paper
August 2007 - The ERN response to the Planning for a Sustainable Future White Paper which sets highlights three critical issues that need to be addressed in order to achieve improved delivery of nationally significant infrastructure.
- Establishing the 'need' for a specific piece of infrastructure
- Simplifying the consent regimes
- Ensuring that sufficient funds are available.
ERN Response to the Draft Local Transport Bill
August 2007 - The ERN response to the Draft Local Transport Bill which welcomes changes to the legislation that would result in enhanced provision of bus services, and measures that would assist modal shift to non-car modes. However, any such proposals will also need to be backed by additional investment by the government; both capital and most importantly revenue.
